It goes without saying the skin care and makeup go hand in hand. The skin is the foundation for a great makeup application and it is so important that we take time to invest in our skin, especially as we get older. So imagine my delight when I was invited to a local skin specialist clinic in Guisborough last week to sample the ZO Stimulator Face Peel. Jenny who owns Beau Beauty Clinic at Bow Street in Guisborough welcomed me with warm reception and we began chatting like we had known eachother for years.
During a previous conversation prior to my appointment Jenny had planned to do a Dermaquest Resurfacing Face treatment however after my skin consultation at the appointment she suggested changing the treatment to the ZO Stimulator Face Peel. I am lucky that I don’t have problematic skin…it tends to stay pretty normal but it can at times feel and look dehydrated (due to my love affair with Diet Coke – I know, its so bad ☹). Jenny promised that the proposed face peel would rejuvenate my skin and she would add a hydration mask following the treatment. So I filled in all of the relevant paperwork to ensure I was ok to proceed with the treatment and off we went.
Jenny explained the full process of the treatment throughout. The full treatment including the hydrating face mask lasted around 45 – 50 minutes and for most of the time I was enjoying a relaxing facial experience with delicious smells. There was a tiny part of the treatment which made my skin tingle (which is normal) and the smell likened to nail varnish remover but this was neither painful not unpleasant and lasted only a few minutes… I wasn’t bothered, I was just excited to see to the end results! After Jenny had completed the face peel treatment I was left alone for 10 minutes to relax with my gorgeous hydration face mask. As I lead a very hectic lifestyle its not very often I get chance to relax and enjoy a treatment like this. It was very welcomed!
At the end of the treatment, Jenny showed me my skin in the mirror and it was absolutely glowing! My skin felt smoother than I could ever achieve with a home exfoliation mask and it felt cleansed, brighter and brand new.
I left my skin makeup free for the rest of the day and was curious to see how it would look the following day – did my skin just look glowy because I had only had the treatment that same day? The answer is no – when I woke up the following day and cleansed my face as normal my skin still looked amazing before I had even applied any moisturiser etc.
Also, when I applied my makeup it looked amazing on my new skin! It went on so smoothly and I hardly used any foundation because my own skin looked amazing.
So here is all of the information you need to know about this treatment.
