So makeup can do wonders – we all know this! It can build our confidence, enhance our beauty and make us feel that extra bit special for big events and occasions however the basis to a flawless makeup application is glowing healthy skin. Makeup can hide our tired eyes, blemishes and brighten up our dull skin but imagine if our skin was already glowing and hydrated? I could write forever on the importance of skincare – infact I wrote a blog a little while ago about tips for improving your tired skin which you can read here however recently after I posted out on social media about looking for some new organic products to buy a friend recommended a company called Leafology. So before I introduce you to Leafology I really want to let you know that in my personal opinion organic skincare is the way to go. So many big branded cosmetic creams (I won’t mention any names however you can find them in all large department stores, there are many to choose from) are expensive and contain lots of chemical processing and sometimes contain very little of the good stuff for your skin. Do not be fooled by thinking that paying lots of money for your skincare is going to mean you will get better results. Skin quality depends on many things, genetics, diet, environmental factors however we can maintain our skin buy looking after it as much as we can and using organic products to nourish skin in my personal preference. There is nothing better than using natural products – they smell amazing and they won’t cost the earth. The ingredients will give you everything you need and yes – maybe your bathroom shelf will not display the branded creams that you would like to show off to your guests when they come to your house but does that really matter?? If you are the type of person that likes to show your brands off, try showing your beautiful skin off instead… you take that with you everywhere you go!
So recently I was introduced to an organic brand called Leafology. They are a UK based company that produce all natural products certified according to EU regulations. Their products are perfect for vegans – all of their products are made only from plant derived ingredients and contain zero chemicals, parabens, sulphates or any other bad stuff. They are highly committed to sustainability and all of their packages are environmentally friendly and encourage you to recycle your bottle pumps. I love their ethics.
Their products include skin care, body creams, baby skincare and nourishing oils for massages. They also make lots of different types of tea packed with nutritional ingredients, vitamins, fatty acids etc. There are lots of benefits in drinking these ingredients but I’ll leave you to read all about them here on their website.
So like everyone else I have enjoyed the party season a little too much. I have eaten my body weight in sugar, salt, fat, alcohol… (no regrets, it was delicious and fully expected at this time of year) however my skin has definitely suffered. It felt dry, dehydrated and battered. Thankfully after a little word with Santa Claus I woke up to the Good Face Day Serum with green tea, raspberry seeds and juniper. This little bottle of goodness transformed by skin immediately. The bottle comes with a pump and only 1 pump is required and it smells LUSH!
Benefits
The benefits to this oil are noted on their website however to summarise the raspberry seed oil offers a small amount natural protection against UVA and UVB rays and it is very effective against inflammation. The ellegic acid can reduce the destruction against collagen helping us keep our youthful looks and the vitamin E which is full of antioxidants.
Camellia oil helps with softening and hydrating skin and hazelnut seed oil is great for both dry and oily skin.
The Juniper berry oil gives the serum its gorgeous smell – a combination of fruit and woody fragrance and is a great skin booster.
Organic argan oil was chosen to include in this blend as it does not cause blockages or build up and boosts skin elasticity.
Grapeseed oil is easily absorbed in to the skin and is a great ingredient for acne sufferers.
Hemp is known for hydrating skin and really helps with skin redness and dry/itchy skin.
Frankinsense is known for its unique scent (I love this smell!!) and helps to tighten and lift skin.
Neroli helps to balance skin tone and elasticity.
Meadowfoam contains antioxidants and helps to soften skin.
Helichrysum is stress relieving oil ingredient and has many other benefits including helping with acne, inflammation, rejuvenation and anti ageing (weyyyy!).
Rosemary has antiseptic qualities and is great for dryness and hydration (getting that lovely glow back).
Spike lavender is a calming fragrance and relaxes without making you drowsy.
Finally Jojoba lightly moisturises the skin but dries in to the skin without feeling greasy.
I absolutely love this product! Along with my bottle I also received a gorgeous sample of the 2-in-1 Face Buff and Clay Mask with Green Tea, Rose, Oats, Rice and Rosehip. It came in a cute little teabag – adorable!
This product is made up of 100% rose petals so it has gorgeous rose colour hue to the mixture. The blend is just mixed with water and I scrubbed it on my skin and left it to dry for 15 minutes before washing it off. You can also throw it in the bath for a little bit of extra luxury. The main benefits to this face buff/mask is that it is packed with antioxidants and ingredients for hormone balancing and fighting blemishes. My skin felt really smooth after rubbing this off gently with a warm flannel. Apologies for the close ups 😀
I took a couple of photos (with the mask on) then immediately after the mask was removed and the face serum was applied. Look at the glow in my skin! It hasn’t felt this nice since the Christmas festivities started and was a much welcomed and needed skin treat. I love these products so much and can’t wait to try more!
My face serum was 30ml for £27.95 but there are various sizes available. The face buff/mask is 38g and costs £11.95.
Check our their website here to read all about their products and benefits. Let me know what you think!
