Makeup is all about having fun! Its a great way to boost your confidence, change your style or enhance your natural features. Its down to the individual how they like to use makeup and for what purpose and I am so lucky to have a real mix of clientele… all ages, all skin types, all colours – ALL DIFFERENT. So I thought I was share with you some of my favourite makeup looks I have done over the last few months.
Vintage
This client was going to her sister’s hen do after the appointment and already had her hair style in a vintage style with Victory Rolls. She asked for a style to compliment the look so naturally I did her a winged liner with very soft natural eye shadow, a strong defined brow, a pale base with a flush of pink on her cheeks and Charlotte Tilbury “Red Carpet” lipstick for that amazing red pout!
Purple Rain Themed Photoshoot with model Samirah Al-Rubai
Model Samirah wanted her makeup to coordinate with the Purple Rain theme of the photoshoot with photographer Tony Robinson. Samirah has a very distinctive look and I wanted to create some dramatic eye makeup that would stand out on the images so opted for a purple and silver cut crease and purple lips.

Bridal
Bridal makeup styling is such a personal decision. Most people opt for an overall soft look and some brides want to incorporate their own twist on a specific look, such as a bold lip or a dramatic smokey eye. There is no right or wrong when it comes to wedding makeup. Do what makes you happy! Here are some of my favourite recent bridal looks…

Occasion Makeups (proms, parties and special events)
So my preferred occasion makeup style is soft and glowy, generally. From eye makeup to foundation, I prefer it soft and blended. No harsh lines (unless its a killer eyeliner). I like natural makeup to look just like a more polished version of yourself and I love dramatic makeup too! Glitter, dark eye makeup, a bold eyeliner… I love it! But I still like it to look soft (if that makes sense). My way of application is to look at client’s features and bring out the best in them! Its not a one size fits all approach with makeup. Not everyone suits or likes dramatic makeup and sometimes a natural look can look ever so pretty. A subtle flush of bronzer, a lovely nude lipstick and a great base – that can look just as amazing as full on drama. Here are some of my favourite recent looks…
Mature clients
Some mature clients find the prospect of professional makeup application terrifying. This is usually due to a couple of things… routine/habit and fear of trying something new. The amount of women I speak to in my job who stay away from makeup as they don’t know how to apply it – or have worn the same style of makeup from the 70s and 80s and carry it through to their daily routine and are too frightened or stuck in their ways update their look and try something new. I have a regular client who always rocks a glam makeover. She has a better social life than anyone I know and loves making the effort to glam up. She always looks amazing and is my poster-girl for ladies 50 years +.
Creative Makeup
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love getting creative. My makeup career plan initially started with the intention of pursuing the path of theatrical makeup however now I love doing everything – my working week is very diverse and I get involved in all kinds of jobs. Sometimes on my time off I’ll lock myself away and turn myself in to a crazy clown for no reason whatsoever… erm yeah… anyway…

I feel so lucky to be doing this for a living. I have such passion for makeup and creating looks. Looking forward to the next half of the year…. Halloween isn’t too far away and as you can imagine its my favourite time of year for getting creative. PS – Halloween is always a very busy time of year so if you have plans this year, get booked in asap. I also do SFX makeup.
Looking forward to seeing you soon for your special occasion, whatever it might be!
