New award incoming woohoo! I am ecstatic to be named Best Bridal and Fashion Makeup Artist 2020 at the Northern Enterprise Awards this month.
One minute you are losing all of your work to global pandemic. The next minute you are celebrating your business achievements! A very strange rollercoaster of a year.
My second recognised achievement this year
This news follows being listed in Go Hen’s national Top 50 bridal Makeup Artists only a few weeks ago. This has kept my spirits lifted during a very difficult year.
This award recognises innovation and outstanding performance
This prestigious award is based on “business practice and overall outstanding performance by market leaders”. Through competitive selection and judging from a panel of business experts I was initially shortlisted by SME News. They acknowledge and champion small/medium sized businesses for their innovation and excellence in business practice. I had to supply my client reviews to the panel and provide a personal statement demonstrating why I met the criteria. The panel also assessed my social media accounts and website.
I am so proud to win 3 awards for different aspects of my business
To win this award is really special – firstly its a hat trick for me. 3 national awards in 3 years as an individual business owner is a huge compliment. When you literally put your name to your business, you hope it will be a success. I couldn’t be happier of what I have achieved in a relatively short space of time. Also, each award I have won has been for different areas of my business now including my client care and business practice.

This is how to support your local business
As a fellow supporter of other local/small businesses, I have made an extra effort this year to remind people the importance of getting behind your friends/family/local companies who are all striving to build a business. This year has been devastating for so many companies, large and small. Now more than ever, it’s vital you continue to show your support to those you know who are working really hard to keep the passion, momentum and bills paid. From buying local to simply engaging in social media posts. A share, a thumbs up or an encouraging comment is entirely FREE and can perk up a bad day in business as well as helping to share the love in news feeds.
Your kindness can really make a difference
So please, from a self-employed business owner who has struggled through the year both mentally and financially with the loss of my own earnings, the lack of structure to the day due to not working and seeing my own friends closing down their dreams through no fault of their own, please support your local businesses. It really can make a difference.
I am hugely grateful to win this award and to be planning for a very busy 2021 and 2022. Thank you for your support.
