Be-YOU-tiful 

Beauty makeup is aspirational.  We are inspired by people around us, faces in magazines, celebrities we see on television.  For some, makeup application is an every day requirement – applying makeup is as much a task to complete first thing on a morning as brushing your hair or your teeth.  For others, makeup is only applied if time allows, for a special occasion or reluctantly because it is expected as part of a particular job (yes there are jobs where personal presentation is a staple requirement for customer facing roles)…

So where do you take your inspiration from?  

Makeup styles vary depending on where you find your inspiration.  

Are you inspired by red carpet beauty?  Beauty segments in magazines? If so, this makeup generally is flawless,  enhancing features, very beautiful and classic.  Some fashion magazines specialise in “high fashion” looks which are usually eye-grabbing, interesting looks but not very wearable.

If you’re inspired by reality television then these looks tend to be very “made up” from structured brows, contouring, lashes – the works!

Do you trawl through Instagram obsessing over the current trend of “insta-makeup”?  The dramatic cut crease?

However you feel inspired, whatever style of makeup makes you feel confident and happy in your skin is totally personal and unique to you.

My preferred style?

So my preferred style for beauty is definitely classic and timeless.  I like to look at faces, features, skin colour, eye colour etc.  I want to bring out the best in clients and not mask faces with “trend” looks for the sake of it.  Whether its natural, dramatic or somewhere in between I can fulfil the requirement however I always get excited when clients leave their trust in my hands to make them feel great!  If you are a client considering booking in for a makeup application for a special event check out my blog about what you can expect from a makeup appointment with me.
