As Beauty Editor for British Bride magazine, I receive lots of beauty products and makeup to test/review on a regular basis and yesterday a facemask dropped through my letter box in a parcel with some other products and I was desperate to try it out.
The AHA/BHA Peel Gel Mask by Lernberger Stafsing seemed the perfect pick-me-up for my skin which has most definately taking a battering lately. A combination of late nights, early mornings, cold weather freezing my face off and central heating blasting my skin dry (and too much sugar but we wont dwell on that) and its resulted in my face feeling lack-lustre to say the least.
So I gave the mask a whirl before getting ready (hence my pre-styled bed hair and lack of makeup).
I always say , beautiful flawless makeup starts with the skin beneath it. Makeup can make us feel amazing but our skin is the base and secret to a flawless makeup application and I am a huge fan of the natural glow (even when I apply makeup) so I was super excited to try this mask. Given that the gel mask only requires 5-10 minutes to work I was so impressed with the results.
When we think of acids, it is easy to be scared and let’s face it, there are so many products on the market now, it can be hard to know which acid does what. This mask contains lactic, glycolic, malic and salicylic acid – all great for exfoliating dead skin cells, boosting radiance, minimising the appearance of fine lines and getting rid of impurities.
These ingredients can bring out some redness and mild tingling on your skin but this is normal as long as you follow the guidance. If you have extra sensitive skin or rosacea it is suggested to avoid.
Although the product can be used as part of a skin maintenance routine (1-2 times per week) I would also use this before a red-carpet event or special occasion as long as you had tested it out on your skin beforehand. Such a great 10 minute skin pick-me-up and my makeup went on really nicely after using this mask.
